Welcome to the archive of work done by my grade 5 students during the 2009/2010 school year. This blog represents the posts and comments that we wrote and received during the 2009/2010 school year. There is a lot of quality work represented here. This blog will be a place where students can look back on what they did and remember  what it was like when they were in grade 5.

Enjoy,

Mrs. Smith

I am in my new house in Edmonton and it is very boring. The weather here has been terrible. It has almost rained here every day. The  most fun thing i have done so far is probably going to the movie theatre and watching The Sorcerers Apprentice, it was really funny. By the way thanks for package Mrs.Smith.

Bye

Yesterday I was dropping my sister off at church and when I came back I asked my mom if the cat brought in a chipmunk and she said I quote “No, they brought in a raccoon and it was the mother that comes to our house with her 3 babies.” At that point I didn’t know what to do either look to make sure it was out or run screaming. I really don’t like raccoons but their babies are cute and clumsy. There is a mom and dad plus 7 adorable little children. I think that they are scary and freaky if you corner them they could attack you.

Have you ever felt like just because you might be the youngest or the only that you have no say in anything? It is not fair that you say something and no one ever listens. Well I have and it doesn’t feel great. It’s like you have no power and you feel really bad. If you have ever felt like that comment please and tell me your problem or situation and I will give you some advice.

4 days ago there was a chipmunk in our house that my cat brought in and it was sooo cute! It was hiding in a metal tube by my fireplace, so to  get it out we poked its butt with a long stick and it ran into my dad’s glove. So as we were outside it would not come out so my mom peeled it out of the glove. So there we were me,my mom and the chipmunk, we started to comence with the peeling off the glove and as we were peeling it off  the poor thing was so stressed that it pooped in my dad’s glove.

Just kidding it wasn’t my last post ha ha. I am in Calgary, Alberta right now and it is fun. Yesterday i went to the zoo and saw some really interesting animals. I am just saying right now I HATE AIRPLANES!!! my flight took 4 and a half hours and me and my sister went threw 1 hour of turbulence ( wind) but other wise i did get complimentary snacks that were already paid for it. If you are wondering why it was paid for,  because i was with my sister and i was a unaccompanied minor. So far Alberta is great and the best part when i move in to my new house in Edmonton i can cheer for the Oilers because they got Taylor Hall!! (hockey dude)

This is one of my favourite days of the year. I really feel that summer has truly begun once we get to Canada Day. Last night people were setting fireworks off around my house. It seemed a little early to me. I wonder what we will see tonight. It is hard to believe that Canada is 143 years old today. I remember very clearly celebrating her 100th birthday (gives you a little idea of how truly ancient I am). It should be a great celebration today. There are many activities planned around the city and even the Queen has come to join us for the birthday. Happy Canada Day everyone. Put on your red and white.
